Please review updates made to the Eligibility & Selection section to ensure you are an eligible candidate for this scholarship.
All applications for the 2013-2014 school year must be submitted online, starting January 1, 2013. More information can be found under our Scholarship Application & Requirements page.
The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation provides scholarships that can be used to cover expenses related to attending college (e.g. tuition and fees, housing, books). The amount of the scholarship varies by institution but is typically equal to the average cost of tuition and fees for a full-time student (15 credits) at that institution plus a book allowance of $500 per semester. For example, the maximum 2012-2013 scholarship amount was $4,250 per semester at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The amount of the scholarship is reviewed each year and adjusted accordingly to accommodate increases or decreases in college-going costs.
Scholarship amounts at each institution for the 2013-2014 school year are currently being calculated and will be posted soon.
